读 Inside Supply Management Jan/Feb 2016刊 Cover Story - SUPPLIER DIVERSITY BRINGS FRESH PERSPECTIVES 有感，分享如下：

a. 纠正对"Supplier diversity"概念的错误理解。原来错误地认为它就是“某一SKU物料，分配给多个供应商，差不多这么个意思”；其实是“供应商多元化、多样性，既是企业社会责任，也是企业获得外部创新输入的重要来源！”the next big idea is from supplier diversity!
Supplier Diversity is a proactive business program which encourages the use of
minority-owned, women owned, veteran owned, LGBT-owned, service disabled veteran
owned, historically underutilized business, and SBA-defined small business vendors
as suppliers.

b. supplier diversity 采购需要做好供应商发展和辅导 mentoring and offering training in a number of business competencies, Offer Assistance and Encouragement

c. 供应商多元化重要性和趋势。在美国甚至有专门推动此发展的组织：National Minority Supplier Development Council(NMSDC)

d. ISM China 以及厦门分会、无锡分会前段时间讨论了“采购的未来十年”。supplier diversity 或许会是采购未来发展的重要方向！

e. 目前现状：传统做法，采购组织倾向于缩小供应商数量，以便公司能更好地利用自身的购买力从而减少总体成本，然而这无疑对supplier diversity类的企业来说是雪上加霜。这些企业没有大型供应商所拥有的经营规模和资本实力，在竞争中无疑处于劣势。
因此：supplier diversity 是一种企业社会责任，需要有意识地推广并发掘价值。
